Behind the TV channel blackouts: stalling profits
Many DirecTV customers have been in a snit since Tuesday after a boardroom brawl between the provider and programmer Viacom flipped the switch on 18 channels, including popular MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1 and Comedy Central.
The companies are blaming each other as they wrangle over the amount of money DirecTV will pay Viacom for a roster of channels that includes Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central.

Despite ongoing talks between Viacom and DirecTV, there's no sign that subscribers locked out of their favorite shows will get a break anytime soon. Meanwhile, the companies are trashtalking on Twitter.
